How to start to pursue a career as a web designer?

What should I do to start this career?

I;m 17 and about to finish high school in a few months, what should I do to become a web designer?

What can I do now?

What should I do after high school?

I would suggest going to college. While it’s not necessary, it will definitely teach you a lot that you don’t know. Plus most employers won’t even look at your portfolio if you have no degree on your resume’.

But right now I suggest learning as much as you can. Visit design sites, blogs, read books, build sites, learn code, stay on top of all the latest trends in web design and coding.

Find freelance jobs, this way you can get practice dealing with real clients and real jobs.
