He and the cartoonist Jamie Hewlett came up with the concept of Gorillaz nearly 10 years ago. In each album, there are different guest collaborators so there really isn't one person who represents Murdoc, Noodle, or Russel. 2D is always represented by Damon Albarn. For example, the collaborators on their newest and third album, Plastic Beach, are Paul Simonon and Mick Jones (from The Clash...I think they play the guitar and bass), Snoop Dogg, Bobby Womack, a Syrian orchestra, Kano, Bashy, Little Dragon...the list goes on and on. These people were not present for the making of their second album Demon Days. So each time you look up the band members you will likely get different pictures. Again, the only consistent member is Damon Albarn as far as I know.
