How does a succesfull implementation of Human resources management plan impact Marketing, Operations& Finance?

Posted by admin on February 28th, 2010 and filed under marketing management | 1 Comment »

I am working on a business plan project and I have to answer the following question on my project:
HOW DOES A BASIC HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT PLAN( FOR EXAMPLE HIRING, TRAINING AND SELECTING PROSTECTIVE EMPLOYEES) IMPACT OTHER FUNCTIONAL AREAS OF THE BUSINESS PLAN INCLUDING MARKETING, OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT, AND FINANCE…

YOUR HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED,….

This is too easy: The plan represents how the company’s mission will be achieved through the reaching of various milestones or markers predetermined and set forth in the corporate mission statement.

Human resources is responsible for bringing employees on board. This means the department select qualified personnel who will (hopefully) execute their responsibilities in such a way as to enable the business entity to survive and prosper as per the original business plan. In business, everything begins with a plan of action, including management of those responsible for implementing a prior course of action. Compensation (salaries, options and health benefit programs) are part of the bigger picture.

This explains why there is a pecking order implicit in the corporate scheme from the board of directors down thhrough the Chairman, CEO, President and so forth. Each successive "layer" of management always has someone (s) to answer to as will be the case in any chain of command. For non-executive leadership, it begins with Human Resources.

What steps to take to get a job in Sports Management/Marketing?

Posted by admin on February 14th, 2010 and filed under marketing management | 1 Comment »

I am extremely interested in starting the process of possibly getting a career in sports management or marketing. I love sports, although I am female. Does being female lessen my chances of achieving this? I know more about sports than your average girl, but nothing overly impressive (with the exception of hockey and Nascar, I am fairly well educated on both those sports). What steps would i have to take to get such a career? (i.e. School, interning, etc.) Any information would be very much appreciated!

What type of job would I be looking at majoring in Marketing Management?

I’m considering majoring in Marketing Management. I’d like to know what type of job I’d have after graduating, its salary, etc., My focus would be on the gaming industry or the internet industry either which I could care less. All inputs would be great. Also, would marketing management prepare me faster as a ‘Marketing Manager’ than to say if I was just to major in Marketing?

You could use that degree to make a fortune in pharma sales. Especially if you minored in chem, and possibly communications.

Posted by admin on November 29th, 2009 and filed under marketing management | 1 Comment »

Ugh, i have this project and i just don’t understand what executive management is – no you will not be doing my work for me by answering me, but you will help me be able to answer the question.
so please please please tell in simple words what the difference between those two are – please!

Executive management deals with the one who oversees a project. Marketing management has to do with the management of only one part of the project, the marketing.

Which courses is better Marketing or Management?

I’m hesitating between doing a marketing course or a management one?
Which one do you think has a better future? I mean which will make it easy for me to find a job. Thank you

If you live in a very big city marketing might be good since big companies tend to have marketing depts, if you plan on living in a small or moderate city then management will be good for you. Management will get you a job no matter where you live though since you learn so many different aspects of a business.

What can I do with a Marketing/Management Major and a Minor in Paralegal?

Posted by admin on November 24th, 2009 and filed under marketing management | 1 Comment »

I have two years left at a State College. I am just curious what people think of my combination of degrees. I live in the tri-state area (NJ PA NY) if that helps. Also I know this is different from school to school but does a minor in Paralegal require the student to be certified? if so, what is the test or certification requirements? Thank you for your answers.

I think your combination of degrees will be extremely useful to an organization. Your pitch should focus on the fact that you are able to not only support the legal requirements of an organization but you are able to present the legal services to the market place in order to increase revenue. Companies love when an employee uses practical knowledge of a specific industry (legal in your case) in order to improve sales and marketing. More often than not there is one person in the organization who is knowledgable about being a paralegal and another person handling the marketing. You will have an advantage because you are knowledgable about both.

Also, think grad school and maybe specializing in Law Marketing; be creative and create your own career! Legal firms would pay you to study trends in legal services and predict marketing trends.

What is the best University for a Marketing Management career?

Posted by admin on November 22nd, 2009 and filed under marketing management | 1 Comment »

I ultimately want to pursue a Marketing Management career. What are the top 3-10 most prestigious universities for a person pursuing this type of career?

Please include at least 3 universities (in order), and what major of study you would suggest.

If you want to work in marketing management, then the obvious major is marketing.

You do not specify whether you want a BS or an MBA. This makes a big difference, because most of the best schools for marketing (Northwestern, Stanford, Harvard, Duke, Dartmouth, etc) do not offer business degrees to undergraduates.

For undergraduates, there are several schools — most of which are also excellent for MBA students.

The three best programs for undergraduates are at Wharton, MIT and Berkeley. Others that are good are Michigan, UNC, NYU, Boston College, Virginia, Villanova, Maryland, USC and Notre Dame.
