I’m majoring in web page design and I have some review questions and I can’t seem to find the answers so hopefully someone can help me.

1: I’ve been in Web design since 1998 and never heard of "type page," "text page," "trim size" or "open line" used in a Web context (I have 12 years of newspaper experience, and have heard those terms used in print). I’d go with D but I think your instructor made up these terms.
2. Again, these terms are used in printing, not Web work. Books are actually divided most commonly into "front matter" (copyright / ISBN, foreward, preface, perhaps reviews, etc.), chapters and "back matter" (afterward, acknowledgments, author bio, appendices, index, etc.) I’d go with D but again, your instructor made this up.
3. C: The intended audience. You must make technical concessions to the printer, and the author is often going to want to have some say in presentation, but as a rule, you design for the target audience. Collateral you make for teens generally will not look like similar information you make for seniors.
Please, can i have a way to teach myself how to build a web page for a company that deals with construction materials, i don’t have previous knowledge with web design but i am a computer tech.
i agree get a pro web designer to do this for you it will probably cost you less in the end. we get loads of people with terrible self made sites that they have used for a year or so approaching us to try to fix them. it just doesnt work if you have no clue where to begin even.

I have loked at a few, but they are WAY too expensive for my budget. I have no idea about the web, but I do know there is business to be had.
I’ve lost a lot of money on AdWords myself. But I have lost more money paying for hits through other services. One site was simply sending me forwarded traffic from random web pages that have absolutely nothing to do with my product.
I honestly wouldn’t trust any company or site that claims to send me a certain number of hits or directed traffic.
Nearly everyone uses Google these days, so your best options for getting good traffic are proper search engine optimization, legitimate link exchange, , social bookmarking and careful, researched use of AdWords.
SEO is something you can hire out and probably get a better job done than what you can do yourself – this is possibly true with link exchange too. But Bookmarking and AdWords is easy enough to do yourself,and you’re likely to get ripped off by anyone who you have to pay to do this.
Bookmark your site at popular web 2.0 sites like Digg, Delicious, etc. That will take you about 5 minutes and your done.
Adwords – you need to make sure you are bidding on teh proper terms. Also, there are other paid ad programs besides AdWords – often with much cheaper cost per click. A one time investment in keyword research software such as Market Samurai or ClickAdEqualizer will earn it’s money back in no time. They’ll lets helps you find what keywords your competition is using, point out alternative keywords, and even help you find the lowest cpc for those keywords. Anyone that you hire is simply going to use this software, and charge you 5 time the purchase cost, monthly!
Do it yourself. You’ll get better results. Nothing looks as unprofessional as having your site linked to known spam sites – that’s what happens when you let someone else do it for you. Trust me, I know from experience.

Bill Gates is the world’s richest person, but what kind of power does he have over you? Can he force your kid to go to a school you do not want him to attend? Can he deny you the right to braid hair in your home for a living? It turns out that a local politician, who might deny us the right to earn a living and dictates which school our kid attends, has far greater power over our lives than any rich person.
Rich people can gain power over us, but to do so, they must get permission from our elected representatives at the federal, state or local levels. For example, I might wish to purchase sugar from a Caribbean producer, but America’s sugar lobby pays congressmen hundreds of thousands of dollars in campaign contributions to impose sugar import tariffs and quotas, forcing me and every other American to purchase their more expensive sugar.
Politicians love pitting us against the rich. All by themselves, the rich have absolutely no power over us. To rip us off, they need the might of Congress to rig the economic game. It’s a slick political sleight-of-hand where politicians and their allies amongst the intellectuals, talking heads and the news media get us caught up in the politics of envy as part of their agenda for greater control over our lives.
The sugar lobby is just one example among thousands. Just ask yourself: Who were the major recipients of the billions of taxpayer bailout dollars, the so-called Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP)? The top recipients of TARP handouts included companies such as Citibank, AIG, Goldman Sachs and General Motors. Their top management are paid tens of millions dollars to run companies that were on the verge of bankruptcy, were it not for billions of dollars in taxpayer money. Politicians preach the politics of envy whilst reaching into the ordinary man’s pockets, through the IRS, and handing it over to their favorite rich people and others who make large contributions to their election efforts.

You (and the article you cite) have framed the issue incorrectly. Liberals are correctly emphasizing a basic problem in our government. The policies that tend to favor the interests of the wealthy and those of big corporations over those of the American public are a problem in our politics. This is supposed to be a government of the people, by the people and for the people.
You correctly point out the influence of lobbyists on government. For each and every member of Congress there are many lobbyists from each of various industries. Their influence is undue. Obviously they are representing their own interests and not those of the general public.
We need to counter that undue influence from those entities that have huge concentrations of wealth and demand reform in the system that aids this influence.
We elect the politicians. We therefore are at fault for letting this situation continue.
Unfortunately, our efforts are being further undermined by the conservatives on the Supreme Court who issued a decision allowing corporate entities even more, and probably overwhelming, influence on the political process.

An associates degree is all you need in this industry. Many companies are cheap and will start you as low as they can and keep you low.
