What is the best web site design program?

I currently use Microsoft Frontpage but you can only make boxy web sites with it, no curves or rounded corners to the boxes. Thanks for the input.

No web design program will create curves for you. That is graphic design work done with Photoshop or similar software. The images are then positioned and duplicated by CSS as necessary to give the illusion of curved design elements. Learn how to use the Slice feature in Photoshop/ImageReady and learn a bit of CSS.

Can E- machine be upgraded with front page web design modules?

I have joined a class, where I am put on web designing. The place provides booklet format only, and when I had reached the page, to link the web page with nother web page, the link came through, and then I could link a web page with a web, and a web opens when clicked on it. but the web page fail to link with actual email address, though it shows a link in a code formate? what would you suggest?

First off you can install any application on a working computer as long as you have the available system resources.

Now more specifically to your issue at hand. Your question was not very clear as it did not contain any of the source code your dealing with.

You said
"but the web page fail to link with actual email address, though it shows a link in a code formate? what would you suggest?"

That to me sounds like you may have coded the email link incorrectly. Did you use a normal mailto statement to link to the email address?

try using this code:

<a href="mailo:EmailAddress
GoesHere?subject=Subject
OfEmailGoesHere">Text For
Link Itself Goes Here</a>

You will need to remove the extra line breaks from that code to make it work. I added the carriage returns so it would not get cut off in this display.

which is the best, a degree in Business and Management or a degree in business and Marketing Management ?

Posted by admin on August 31st, 2009 and filed under marketing management | 3 Comments »

Hello everyone
next September I have to do a degree in Business and Management or a degree in business and Marketing Management . If someone works in one of these fields, please do you mind if you can give me information and what kind of job you can get by these different degrees

thank you

I would say go with business and management as they will be more focused on managing different types of business. The marketing management will focus more on the marketing work and that would be the field you could be stuck in at the end of it. If you want a qualification that you would be able to switch industrys you should go with the first one.

How good is the internet job market?

Posted by admin on August 31st, 2009 and filed under internet marketing services | 4 Comments »

I am an MCA student and I wish to get into Internet services… how good is this job market? Also, what is the pay package I should expect?

While the market isn’t growing as fast as it once was, it is one of the few job sectors still growing. Yes, Yahoo has just laid a bunch of people off, but Yahoo has bigger problems that are resulting in those cuts. Resolution Media just posted an article about the market as a whole: http://www.findresolution.com/2008/11/10-reasons-search-marketers-should-be.html

Digital is growing, web analytics and SEM are growing the fastest, especially in large companies that are starting to see the value in a medium that is completely transparent.

Most of the major job boards will have some great opportunity, but also try searching for industry organizations (i.e. Web Analytics Association). Also, try researching recruiting firms. They are a great resource. Every city has a major firm companies like to work with, so start by looking for companies within you city or the next biggest city near you.

Internet Marketing?

Posted by admin on August 31st, 2009 and filed under internet marketing services | 10 Comments »

I am so new to all of this. I hired a designer to design my website, www.hautemamacouture.com. So the site is up and running, but with no business. All of my profits came from eBay but I decided to close that store down with their new fee hikes.

I have no idea, aside from pay-per-click services that have not been working, to get buyers to my site. I feel like I wasted my money. I posted a question to get ideas and got lots of answers but I don’t even know what most of what they are talking about is. Is there a company that will work on your website for you to make sure that all of the SEC and meta tags and all of the stuff that I have no idea about will be taken care of and my website will obtain the traffic and sales that I need generated?

I don’t have hundreds or thousands of dollars to spend on this. I am a stay at home mother and I invested a lot of my resources into my inventory.

Thanks!
Well gee, Mark, I figured since I listed the web address you could check it out yourself so that I wouldn’t have to waste characters on that. It’s a maternity clothing line. I don’t expect anyone to do it for free or that I ‘deserve’ customers solely from building the site. I’m asking for help because I don’t know what it is that I need to do. I’m not looking to create a business plan, I don’t intend on making millions of dollars on this site, I simply need it to supplement my income and want it to run at it’s best, efficiently, and cost effectively.

What are you selling? What is your business model?

There are thousands of companies and individuals who will work for you, but they cost money. It’s really unclear what you are selling, or what you’ve spent so far. Every small business requires a "business plan" that identifies issues like marketing, order fulfillment, etc.

And nobody else can take responsibility for YOUR business; it’s your business, not theirs. Ask yourself: if this firm can bring me customers and help me sell, what am I adding to this operation at all? All too often, people think "if I build it they will come" or they feel that just because they’ve spent money to build a web site, they "deserve" customers.

You need to clearly identify what you "bring" to your business, and what you need others to help you out with. You’ve clearly identified that you need someone to help with "SEO and meta tags" and I assume you also need help developing a marketing plan and specific strategies to use, but without knowing what YOU bring to the business, and what the business is, nobody can help you.

Added: I did take a look at your site, and there’s a lot about it that doesn’t comform to "best practices" for designing an e-commerce web site. For example:
– I can’t see any link to a privacy policy;
– the "about us" page doesn’t actually identify you
– I had to hunt to find your location (city or address) or phone number (finally found it on the ‘returns’ page)

These are "red flags" that send negative signals to prospective customers.
